Top Project Risk Number 1: Delivery Risk
19-02-2020Finding orientation in a chaotic world
23-03-2020Scrum for Hardware Expert and WIKISPEED founder Joe Justice has confirmed that he is coming to Switzerland next week to teach the XM Extreme Manufacturing workshop. I am looking forward to a great workshop that opens your eyes to new possibilities. The COVID Virus is indeed making a big mess of everyone’s plans. Why are we holding the class anyway? (Scroll past the graphic for the answer).
To make the March workshops more attractive, we are offering a special discount. Use the coupon code WhatsSpecialinMarch for an additional 20% discount an all our courses in Zurich in March (XM, CSM, CSPO). For course listing and registration, click here.
Based on what we have learned about how the virus spreads, who it affects, what the impact is, we believe it is still reasonable to be holding the classes. We are watching the situation, and if that changes, we will react appropriately.
Here is the statement we sent to our students to explain why we believe this and what we will do to mitigate the risks.
Zurich, February 27, 2020
Dear [participant],
You are registered for the Certified Scrum Product Owner course 200304-CPO starting on Wednesday, March 4.
As you surely know, the outbreak of COVID-19 virus is causing widespread worries around the world and even in Switzerland.
We believe it is important to take suitable actions to keep the virus from spreading. Given what we know about the current situation, we believe that holding the class next week does not represent a significant risk. I just received word that the city of Zurich took the same decision for public schools.
We will hold the workshop as scheduled.
But to be on the safe side, we would like to take the following precautions:
- We ask you not to come to the workshop if your are sick, unwell, or have been in one of the at-risk areas in the last 14 days. You can apply the full cost of your class to a future class.
- We strongly encourage all participants to apply safe practices. In particular we emphasize the importance of washing your hands frequently and thoroughly, of using hand disinfectants, and of avoiding handshakes (fist bumps would be fine!).
- We will brings masks to the class and will offer them to participants. If you are coughing or sneezing, please wear them.
- We will of course fulfill these requests ourselves.
If you have any questions please feel free to drop us a line…
Best regards,
Peter
